Deborah; One Death Too Many -By Ahmad Yahaya Abu-Abiy
In the end, our belief as Muslims, the dignity of our beloved Rasool, MUHAMMAD (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) is far beyond the value of our lives, the lives of our parents, and any other life, and there is no amount of pressure from anywhere or from any human being that will make us settle and agree for any form of blasphemy against him. This is sealed!

Islamically, any unjustifiable killing of innocent souls is condemnable in its entirety.
Blasphemy against our beloved Rasool, MUHAMMAD (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) is utterly condemnable and unacceptable by “all” Muslims, and within the confine of Islamic jurisprudence, it carries a death penalty even if the culprits repent afterward. Where one occurs, as in the case of Deborah, constituted authorities are the ones in position to enforce such law, not you and I, or even those that lynched her, after proving the allegation beyond any reasonable doubt.
Deborah’s death is one too many. As this isn’t the first time such happened. It was a recurring decimal. However, each time it happened, the general uproar from the other flank most especially, seems to focus more on the killing than what caused the killing.
Take notice that I’m not in any way trying to justify the killing. What I’m trying to say is that, if the root cause of the problem can be identified and be tackled once and for all, we won’t be going back and forth over the same issue over and over again.
What causes all this is never far-fetched; it is averagely known by all and sundry. For instance, I can never go about insulting Jesus Christ (may peace & blessing of Allah be upon him) because I love him and respect him as a Muslim, and this implies that I’m equally respecting what the Christian faithful are cherishing and respecting at the same time. One will even wonder what joy anyone derives by insulting him, or can joy be derived through insult?
So, by simply desisting from blaspheming the personality of our dear Rasool, MUHAMMAD (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam), this problem will become a thing of the past in the pages of our history, and all this uproar will cease to exist, hence, the respect for one another’s religious views and beliefs will become the order of the day.
