Delta APC Congratulates Reno Omokri on Ambassadorial Nomination by President Tinubu

The Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), led by Chairman Elder Omeni Sobotie, has extended congratulations to Reno Omokri on his nomination as Ambassador-Designate by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

In a statement signed by the party’s publicity secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, the APC described the nomination as “a significant national recognition that brings immense pride not only to Mr. Omokri and his family, but to the entire people of Delta State.”

Elder Sobotie, in a goodwill message, emphasized the party’s pride in celebrating “yet another proud son of our beloved State who has distinguished himself with honour and integrity on the national and global stage.” He highlighted Omokri’s “intellectual contributions, longstanding engagement in policy discourse, and extensive international exposure,” which, he said, “have consistently demonstrated his capacity to serve Nigeria at the highest levels.”

The chairman further stated that Omokri’s nomination “speaks volumes about President Tinubu’s commitment to merit, national inclusion, and the recognition of individuals who have shown unwavering passion for the advancement of Nigeria.” He commended the President for identifying and elevating “the Delta-born technocrat and advocate whose voice and intellectual rigour have contributed to shaping national conversations over the years.”

Delta APC views the appointment as “a shining example of the possibilities that lie ahead for Deltans who continue to excel across diverse professional fields.” According to the party, Omokri’s “global footprint – spanning public service, advocacy, media, humanitarian work, and diplomacy – positions him uniquely to project Nigeria’s values, deepen bilateral relations, and promote our national interests with distinction.”

Elder Sobotie urged Omokri to continue embodying “the virtues of diligence, humility, and patriotism that have characterized his journey thus far,” expressing confidence that he will excel as a diplomat and serve as “a bridge-builder, an image-bearer of Nigeria’s potential, and a worthy representative of Delta State.”

Delta APC called on party members, stakeholders, and Deltans from all walks of life to join in celebrating the achievement and offer support as Omokri prepares for this important role.

The statement concluded by reiterating congratulations to Reno Omokri and commending President Tinubu for his “exemplary leadership and commitment to recognizing talent across Nigeria,” adding that the party remains hopeful for the success of the M.R.O.R. agenda.
