Even though a one-size-fits-all approach to Christianity can never work, there should be unity of purpose in Christian diversity. The initial aim of denominations is not to create differences in the Christian religious beliefs but to bring people from all angles and preferences together under one umbrella while respecting their peculiarities.

It is sad that the purpose of denominations is abused by Christians today! Instead of evangelizing to bring the unsaved to Christ, Christians preach to fellow Christians to win them over to a particular denomination. On several occasions, there were cases of a denomination condemning another! What a shame! Forgetting that making heaven is only through salvation, Christians concentrate their time, money, and energy in out doing other denominations.

Jesus warned against division in Mark 3:25 when he said a house divided against itself cannot stand. Though there are different denominations, Christian churches must learn to stand by each other to ensure unity and ultimately, the salvation of the lost souls. It is clear that at the end of it all, the issue of denomination will not matter as Jesus said in John 4:21-24 that a time will come when his worshipers will worship him in truth and in spirit.
