Detty December Fest 2025 ended in Lagos with high-energy performances from Wizkid, Busta Rhymes, Gunna, Tiwa Savage and other African stars, cementing its place as a major driver of culture and tourism.
Detty December Fest 2025 concluded in grand style in Lagos, rounding off a month-long celebration of music and culture that further solidified its reputation as one of Africa’s leading end-of-year festivals.
The festival, held at Ilubirin from December 7 to 29, unfolded across four major highlight days and attracted hundreds of fans to Lagos for what organisers describe as “Africa’s real summer.”
The final phase of the festival delivered electrifying performances from international stars Busta Rhymes and Gunna, alongside top African acts such as Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Shenseea, Phyno, Fave, Juma Jux, Qing Madi, and Diamond Platnumz.
Detty December Fest opened on December 7 with a dramatic display featuring aerial ballerinas, setting a theatrical tone for the event. The opening night featured performances by Nigerian music heavyweights including Wande Coal, Young Jonn, Ice Prince, Darey, Fola, Shoday, and Jerry Shaffer.
The festival also enjoyed strong institutional support through a partnership with the Federal Ministry of Art and Culture. The Minister, Hannatu Musa Musawa, praised the event as a major boost to Nigeria’s cultural ecosystem, highlighting its contribution to the country’s global creative image and its impact on holiday tourism.
Speaking on the success of the 2025 edition, Deola Art Alade, Founder and Group CEO of Livespot360, said the turnout in Lagos reflected a rising appetite for large-scale live entertainment during December.
“This year showed that the appetite for Detty December Fest is real. Ilubirin proved Lagos is ready for a world-class December experience, and this is only the beginning,” she said.
Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer Darey Art Alade noted that the festival was designed to capture the vibrant spirit of Lagos. “We set out to create a festival that feels true to Lagos — fresh and exciting. The response from the artists and fans tells us we got it right,” he said.
With its mix of global headliners, African talent, and immersive production, Detty December Fest 2025 raised the bar for live entertainment in Lagos, reinforcing Detty December as a key driver of culture, tourism, and economic activity in the city.
