Do Not Reverse This Girl, Please -By Hassan Idris
(I am not sure of the truth behind the new story emanating from yesterday)
Forget any so-called made-up story by this girl. In our helplessness, we make up stories, daily. We ask for forgiveness and we are forgiven. Life is like that!
Is she an amputee? Is she an indigent child? Is she hawking? Is she truly helpless? Is she out of school? If she passes these questions, let her be, pls. It is like the stories every child makes up to uncles, aunties, fathers, brothers, sisters and mothers, to curry more favours while in school, at home or elsewhere. You wanted more money for handouts, project, and all sort of nonsense when you didn’t actually need them. They are 5th degree offenses of our growing up that your victims forgave you or never took notice of.
Even if she did it with others, let her be. A life has been redeemed. Let her proceed to be a great citizen from here. A Nigerian child with two legs is a helpless citizen, today. If you punish this girl by retrieving the privileges, you are damaging the society. Society will regret what she will do next when she is returned to her previous life. Let this girl be.
In fact, if there are writers near her, let them teach her how to make up stories or, if you know her phone number, give us let us add her to our Lagos Hill-Top, Kogi Hill-Top or national WhatsApp platforms to redirect her mind towards creative writing.
DON’T REVERSE THIS GIRL, PLS. THE REWARD OF YOUR DONATIONS ARE INTACT.
