The Nigerian naira maintained its recent strength on Monday, trading at about ₦1,466 per US dollar in the official Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM), while the parallel market — tracked by AbokiFX — quoted the dollar at roughly ₦1,450.

According to traders, the NFEM rate — calculated as a volume-weighted average from interbank trading — reflected ongoing dollar inflows and modest liquidity injections, which have eased pressure on the local currency compared to earlier in the month.

On the street market, AbokiFX data showed buy and sell rates clustering between ₦1,445 and ₦1,460, narrowing the gap between the official and parallel market compared to previous months.

Analysts and market participants attributed the naira’s stability to stronger forex supply from exporters and a clampdown on speculative activities. However, they cautioned that the currency remains susceptible to fluctuations tied to external inflows and central bank interventions.
