Dressing Well And Dressing Sexy -By Sunday Saheed

Records showed that there were very few raped people in the olden days, but now, records on rape have immensely aggravated. Want to know why? It’s because we’re starting to build our own norms and value on the foundation of our forefathers. We’re trying to use our own paths to erase theirs.

I was sauntering down the street,
With my vitality and vigor poured to my feet.
I didn’t know my intense earnestness will be snubbed like a sewer,
And I’d be forcefully taken to a corner.
Had I known I’d later be forcefully lay,
Mi ò bá ti má kúrò nílé.

I had perpetually been warned by mom not to plod precipitously with my stunning elegance.
“You’d be pestered by different libidinal and debauched sons of Adam, till they have their chance.”
I recalled those statements of hers that spurt like a cascade,
But did I listen then? I was only concerned with my parade!
Not only did men thrust into me, realization did too.
I didn’t realize that all this while, àìmòkan n fún mi léko mu!

With the rain of regrets and contrition, I was drenched.
Deep into my thoughts, I was trenched.
Why haven’t I listened to Mama’s premonition?
Why have I thought that she was really “old-fashion”.
All my adornments and embellishments had shone a lustful ray,
Ohun tó múwá, àbo rè ré.

DRESSING WELL AND DRESSING SEXY

It’s not that our time is full of heinous and immoral people, it’s that in our time, we demand for immorality that will later fetch us a lasting regret.

Records showed that there were very few raped people in the olden days, but now, records on rape have immensely aggravated. Want to know why? It’s because we’re starting to build our own norms and value on the foundation of our forefathers. We’re trying to use our own paths to erase theirs.

There are many companies out there that are hell-bent on recruiting ‘hot’ ladies for ‘smart’ ones. How despicable! What’s the main essence of asking our offspring to dress well when the society is demanding for adults that dress sexily.

You know for yourself, the type of thoughts you hold when you want to dress. “I want to look sexy”, right? Just for once, check the meaning of sexy in the dictionary.

A dictionary defined SEXY as “Having sexual appeal; suggestive of sex”. See? You have totally placed a nasty tag on yourself, that tells people that you want to have sex. So if you’re called by lustful men that are looking for seductive ladies, I don’t think you should be furious with that; you demanded it. You will be addressed according to the way you dress.

I’ve seen many young ladies cry and feel bad if loose outfits are sown for them. Some even took action by burning it. Really?

A 10-year-old girl has started having the notions of gathering clothes that will shape out her burst and mark out her curves. Oh! We’re fast forgetting that the real purpose of clothes is to cover our nakedness, not to hover over it.

Sit and think for yourself, what’s your gain in wearing clothes that don’t cover anything on you at all? Nothing! It’ll even cause you regrets and pains afterward. The fault of rape doesn’t totally lie with the men only, it also lies with the women that wear rags instead of clothes!

What we’re living in today is nothing but an adulterated society. The lines drawn for positivity and negativity are on alternate angles. START DRESSING WELL AND NOT SEXY!

Change can begin with a person. Let the positive change begin with you! Forget the abuses, ignominy, and obloquy that you’ll face whenever you wear the real definition of clothes, just focus on making that positive change start from you.

To you, who recruits beautifully structured ladies for beautifully upright ladies, it’s high time you stopped! You won’t know the places your daughters will go, what you’ve imposed on other ladies will be necessitated on yours too. The only way to avoid this is by avoiding every lady dressed in filthy rags.

Remember, lives are in your hands. You choose whether to ruin it, or to nurture it.

Ladies, you can still change now. It’s not too late now. DRESSING ITSELF IS AN ASSET.
