EiE Nigeria to Celebrate 15 Years of Civic Activism with December 10 Lagos Event
Enough is Enough (EiE) Nigeria celebrates 15 years of citizen-led activism on December 10 in Lagos. The event, themed “Footprints & Frontlines,” will feature WTO DG Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and highlight EiE’s impact on democracy, youth mobilisation, and government accountability in Nigeria.
Enough is Enough (EiE) Nigeria, one of Africa’s leading civic movements and a prominent voice for democratic accountability, has announced plans to mark 15 years of citizen-driven action with a landmark event in Lagos on December 10, 2025.
The event, themed “Footprints & Frontlines,” celebrates EiE’s dual legacy of reflection and momentum. “Footprints” highlight the trail EiE has forged across Nigeria’s civic landscape, from policy advocacy and radio town halls to youth mobilisation and digital civic engagement. “Frontlines” symbolize the ongoing efforts of nation-building, wherever Nigerians are driving change with integrity, creativity, and service.
The celebration will feature Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organization, and will be hosted by media personalities Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and Ayo Mairo-Ese. Attendees will also witness the premiere of a documentary chronicling EiE Nigeria’s 15-year journey in mobilising citizens, holding power accountable, and redefining civic participation.
EiE’s Executive Director, Opeyemi Adamolekun, reflected on the organisation’s journey:
“EiE’s story is proof that a small group of committed citizens can reawaken a nation’s conscience. For fifteen years, we have turned civic frustration into civic action – demanding better, insisting on truth, and showing that democracy only works when citizens do. As we enter this next chapter, our mission is unchanged: to keep the flame of accountability burning, and to remind every Nigerian that leadership begins with citizenship.”
Since its founding in 2010, EiE has pioneered initiatives like the #RSVP (Register, Select, Vote, Protect) campaign, mobilising millions of young voters, and the #OfficeOfTheCitizen platform, advancing civic education and participation in Nigeria’s digital era. The movement has also played a key role during the #EndSARS protests, as well as sustained campaigns for electoral reform, constitutional accountability, and government transparency, cementing its status as a moral compass in Nigeria’s democracy.
