Emir of Zazzau Turbans Former Vice President Namadi Sambo as Sardauna of Zazzau
The Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Bamalli, has turbaned former Vice President Namadi Sambo as the Sardauna of Zazzau, honouring his leadership and service to Nigeria.
The Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, on Saturday officially turbanned former Vice President Namadi Sambo as the Sardauna Zazzau in a colourful ceremony held at the Emir’s palace in Zaria, Kaduna State.
Speaking during the event, Emir Bamalli revealed that the prestigious title was originally conferred on Sambo in 2014 by his late predecessor, Alhaji Shehu Idris, but the coronation could not take place until now.
He explained that the honour was in recognition of Sambo’s distinguished leadership, service to Nigeria, and dedication to humanitarian causes.
“The conferment of this title reflects his contributions to national development and his exemplary record of public service,” the Emir stated.
Bamalli expressed confidence that the new Sardauna would use his position to promote harmony and development across the emirate and the country at large.
“We hope and pray that he will continue to be a bridge builder between the Zazzau Emirate and his network of friends and relationships,” he added.
The grand ceremony drew dignitaries from across Nigeria, including former President Goodluck Jonathan, serving and former governors, traditional rulers, religious leaders, senior government officials, and political figures.
