Ex-Female Presidential Candidate, Bishop Prof. Funmilayo Adesanya-Davies in Port Harcourt has congratulated the Muslims on their festival of Eid al-Adha; while drumming support for Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara’s charges to Muslim clerics to caution herdsmen against harassing residents of communities and killing farmers, to claim their lands.

Adesanya-Davies explains, “Eid al-Adha literally translates as “Feast of the Sacrifice”. This is because it honours the famous story of the willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim – known in the Christian Old Testament as Abraham – to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God’s command. The Almighty God hates the killing of fellow human beings not even as a sacrifice.”

The Governor of Rivers State Siminalayi Fubara in a news report by Dennis Naku in Port Harcourt Rivers state has cautioned herdsmen against attacking farmers. Fubara also urges Muslim clerics to caution the herdsmen on
29th June 2023 .

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara has charged Muslim clerics in the state to caution herdsmen against harassing residents of communities, killing farmers, and damaging crops in the state

Fubara gave this charge when he received the leadership of the Muslim community who paid a visit in the spirit of the Muslim festival of Eid al-Adha at the Government House, Port Harcourt on Thursday. This was contained in a statement signed by Boniface Onyedi, media aide to the governor, and made available to newsmen.

Fubara according to the statement said his administration remains committed to protecting the lives and properties of everyone. He said such resolve has made it possible for them (Muslims) to celebrate in a peaceful atmosphere.

In a similar development, in Plateau State, it has been reported: SECURITY ALERT; BANDITS VOWED TO UPROOT VILLAGES IN RIYOM AND BARKIN LADI LGAs, IN PLATEAU STATE 1/7/23.

Information credibly given out is that, Fulani Militias with Bandits brought from Zamfara and other States have vowed to bring down the following villages;

Barkin Ladi LGA
1. Gassa in Ropp District, 2. Chit and Tapo in Heipang District
3. Nding, Rawuru, Sagas, Sagasan, Nafan in Fan District.

Riyom LGA
1. Kwi
2. Wereng-Camp
3. Wereng
4. Kum & Byei,
5. Jol
6. Tashek
7. Tanjol
8. Rim.
9. Sara of Ganawuri

“According to the intelligence, leader of the Militias who hails from Rankum (Mahanga) of Riyom LGA just returned from Zamfara State, where he secured the assistance of Bandits that are attacking Plateau villages. The same leader also met a high profile political appointee to seek for immunity against possible manhunt that is likely to befall him as all accusing fingers are pointing at him in the current security situation in the State and Middle-Belt at large.

“His visit to Zamfara was not only to appreciate for the Bandits deployed, but also to hire more more into Plateau, and that banditry will make security situation in the State worst after the Sallah celebration.

Residents of Mangu, Barkin Ladi,Bassa and Riyom LGAs must be on extra RED ALERT as the attackers declared the impending invasions as the “Last Battle” with no going back from inflicting higher casualty on the named villages even if all of them (the Bandits/Militias) will go down to the grave.

They have also declared, “No Harvest” in Mangu, Barkin Ladi and Riyom LGAs, for there will be tensity of destruction of farmlands, especially late evening and midnight hours. No security will dare attempt to arrest any of them if they (security) love their lives.

Adesanya-Davies therefore drums support for Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara charges to Muslim clerics not only in Rivers State but in the entire nation to caution herdsmen against harassing residents of communities, killing farmers, in order to claim their lands.
This is simply a case of ethnic cleansing.

We also call on, and pleads with President Ashiwaju Tinubu APC-led administration to halt the ethic cleansing in Plateau State communities as a matter of urgency, and curb the menace of insecurity by Fulani killer herdsmen, bandits, Boko haram, Jihadists, ISWAP, Terrorists etc, in the entire nation, as promised.
