First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Inaugurates 100-Bed Specialist Hospital in Gombe
Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has commissioned the 100-bed Maternal and Child Specialist Hospital in Gombe, highlighting its role in reducing maternal and infant mortality under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has commissioned a new 100-bed health facility in Gombe State, named the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Maternal and Child Specialist Hospital.
At the event, Mrs. Tinubu emphasized that maternal and child healthcare remains central to President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. She urged healthcare stakeholders to ensure that no mother dies while giving life and that every Nigerian child has a healthy start.
“The commissioning of this hospital is not just the unveiling of a building; it is the opening of doors to life, to hope, and to a healthier future for our mothers and our children,” she said in a statement issued by her media aide, Busola Kukoyi.
She expressed confidence that the facility will help reduce maternal and infant mortality and bring relief to families in Gombe and neighboring states. The First Lady also commended the Office of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for its role in building the hospital.
“As we commission this hospital today, I encourage all stakeholders, medical professionals, community leaders, and citizens to ensure that it serves its noble purpose with excellence, compassion, and integrity,” she added.
In addition, the First Lady inaugurated the new ultra-modern College of Nursing and Midwifery in Gombe, where she interacted with excited students who welcomed her warmly.
