Former Nasarawa Deputy Governor, Solomon Ewuga, Passes Away at 70
Ex-Nasarawa Deputy Governor and former FCT Minister of State, Senator Solomon Ewuga, has died at 70 after a prolonged illness. He was a statesman, APC member, and influential voice for Nasarawa North.

Senator Solomon Ewuga, former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and one-time representative of Nasarawa North in the 7th National Assembly, has died at the age of 70.
Family sources confirmed that Ewuga passed away on Tuesday after a prolonged illness.
Ewuga’s decades-long career in public service was marked by resilience, political adaptability, and deep commitment to governance. He first gained prominence as Deputy Governor under Abdullahi Adamu, later serving as Minister of State for the FCT, where he made notable contributions to Abuja’s development.
His tenure in the Senate further cemented his influence, as he became a strong voice for Nasarawa North.
In December 2023, Ewuga drew attention when he officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) after years with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a move seen as a testament to his relevance and adaptability in Nigeria’s shifting political terrain.
Beyond politics, the late senator was widely regarded as a statesman whose leadership helped shape Nasarawa’s political history.
His passing, according to associates, marks the end of an era both for the state and for Nigeria’s democratic journey.
Senator Ewuga is survived by his family, political allies, and admirers who continue to honour his legacy of service and leadership.
