A Federal High Court order in Abuja has been secured by the Department of State Services (DSS) to freeze 20 bank accounts linked to Aisha Abdulkarim, a suspected female terrorist.

The accounts, which are held by eight different banks, will be kept frozen for a full year so that the secret police can perform forensic examinations into the bank account operator’s alleged terrorist activities.

Following the DSS’s presentation and argument of an ex-parte case before him, Justice Peter Lifu issued an order to freeze the accounts.

The DSS is also in charge of Yehusa Idris and Abdullahi Babayo Umar, who are allegedly connected to the terrorist attacks.

The lawyer stated that freezing the accounts was crucial to providing the DSS with unrestricted access during the investigation.

Although the DSS requested a 90-day freeze order, the judge granted 60 days, instructing the secret police to conduct their investigation diligently and expeditiously.
