Gombe State police promote 13 DSPs to SP rank

Speaking in an interview with journalists, SP Umeadi Thomas, the officer in charge of Legal and Prosecution, promised to reciprocate the gesture of the promotion by contributing positively to improved policing.

No fewer than 13 Deputy Superintendents of Police have been promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Police in Gombe State.

Speaking shortly after decorating the officers at the Officers’ mess Gombe, Commissioner of Police Ishola Babaita, lauded the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, for finding the officers worthy.

Babaita revealed that the reward of hard work is more work, adding that the newly promoted officers should justify the promotion by ensuring that Gombe remains peaceful and habitable for all.

The commissioner said, “Promotion is the fruit that every police officer will like to enjoy. It based on the Annual Evaluation Performance, and the sense of dedication to the job, the IGP and his management team deemed it fit to recommend them to the service commission to be promoted to the next rank.

“So like I said, every police wishes to be promoted, it shows you are responsible and you have been found worthy. The promotion is all-inclusive, it is a reward for hard work, discipline and dedication. They are 13 been promoted from DSP to SP. If you do good you will be rewarded, and if you are unscrupulous we will show you the way out.”

Speaking in an interview with journalists, SP Umeadi Thomas, the officer in charge of Legal and Prosecution, promised to reciprocate the gesture of the promotion by contributing positively to improved policing.

“I’m very happy that the Inspector General of Police has found us worthy, we will do our best, and we will be more productive. We will reciprocate positively,” Thomas said.

On his part, SP Alhaji Salagu, attached to 34 PMF squadron Gombe, lauded the IGP for finding him worthy.

He said, “We are part of the combatant aspect, especially in this democratic era, we will work assiduously in making Gombe safe for all to reside.”
