Gov Yusuf Submits Two Commissioner-Nominees to Kano Assembly for Confirmation
Kano Governor Abba Yusuf has submitted Abdulkarim Maude (SAN-designate) and Dr Aliyu Isa-Aliyu, Statistician-General of Kano, to the State Assembly for confirmation as commissioners. He also appointed Salisu Tahir as Solicitor-General.

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has transmitted the names of two nominees to the Kano State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation as commissioners.
The nominees are Abdulkarim Maude, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN)-designate, and Dr. Aliyu Isa-Aliyu, an Associate Professor of Allied Mathematics.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday in Kano by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Dawakin-Tofa.
Maude is a seasoned lawyer with broad expertise in office administration, court proceedings, and corporate practice. Isa-Aliyu, a respected researcher in mathematics, currently serves as the Statistician-General and Director General of the Kano State Bureau of Statistics.
In a related development, Governor Yusuf also approved the appointment of Salisu Tahir as the new Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice. Tahir previously held the position of Director of Public Prosecution in the ministry.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to professionalism, competence, and integrity in public service, Yusuf noted that the appointments reflect his effort to bring young, energetic, and capable individuals into his cabinet.
