Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted Mrs. Patience Nasamu, wife of Pastor Samuel Nasamu of Word of God Church, Agyaragu, along with a female church member on Sunday night in Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

Narrating the ordeal, Pastor Nasamu said his wife, who is nursing a three-month-old baby, was taken alongside the church member who had visited their home after a service.

“I barely left my wife and our visitor with our newborn baby to pray for a sick member when my wife placed a call to me, and all I could hear was her voice of prayer. She couldn’t even tell me what was happening.

“When I rushed back home, I discovered my wife and the church member had been abducted, leaving my three-month-old baby behind,” he recounted.

He explained that the assailants stormed his apartment within a compound, using hammers in an attempt to break through the doors and windows. When they failed, they fired sporadically, forcing his wife to open the door. She and the visitor were then whisked away.

According to him, strange individuals were earlier spotted on motorcycles around 7:00 p.m., and the kidnappers struck at about 8:15 p.m. The pastor added that he has not received any contact from the abductors since the incident.

The police later arrived at the scene, urging residents to remain calm while assuring that investigations were ongoing to track down the criminals.

A resident of Agyaragu, who spoke anonymously, decried the rising spate of abductions in the community.

“We live every day in fear of being kidnapped or killed if ransom is not paid. Farmers and residents are targeted daily. Help us tell Governor Abdullahi Sule that Agyaragu is now at the mercy of kidnappers,” he lamented.
