A former Ward Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Boriya–Shiya Ward, Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State, Alhaji Abubakar Sabi Sise, has been kidnapped by armed men who invaded his residence in the early hours of Thursday.

Saturday Vanguard gathered that the attackers struck around midnight, firing multiple gunshots into the air to frighten residents before gaining access to the compound.

According to sources, one of Alhaji Sise’s sons returned home late and was confronted by the gunmen. At gunpoint, they allegedly ordered him to call his father. Once Alhaji Sise opened the door, the kidnappers seized him and left the remaining family members unharmed.

This is the second kidnapping incident in the area in less than two months. On September 17, a businessman was abducted from his home in Shiya, a nearby community.
