Has 2023 Governorship Campaign Started In Niger State? -By Shariff M.M Al-hassan

Is Niger state not part of the corporate Nigeria? Is Niger state not using the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria? Is Niger state not using the Electoral Act 2010 ( As Amended).

Does it mean that because Niger state is a core APC state it is above the laws of the land? What is the functions of  INEC in Niger state?
I asked these questions because something is happening in the state and nothing seem to happen. A movement within Niger state capital at strategic junctions and walkways are portraits of Governorship Aspirants displayed.

So also across Zone A and along strategic roads or streets are found these portraits conspicuously advertising the Governorship Aspirants. These actions are wrong and it goes contrary  to the laws of the land. Moreover if other Political Party Aspirants should do the same, than campaigning has commenced fully in Niger State. What is the provisions of section 99 (1 ) (2) of the Electoral Act 2010 ( As Amended) for. Why should the INEC not enforce the provisions as stated under section 149(1) and (2 ) of Electoral Act 2010 on whosoever violate the Electoral Acts or has these provisions amended unnoticed.

Haba, he who is in a glass house must not been seen to throw stone. It is time for the State APC to call their Aspirants to respect the laws of the land more so that, they are aspiring for the highest office in the state. They are supposed to start showing leadership by example. If they claim not to have known, this is the notification and they should speak to their adherents to readjust. Even though ignorance of law is not a defence. 

2023 is still far, more so those Aspirants must by now gained from this advertisement. They should get these Bill Boards, vehicles laminated with their pictures and roadside placement of their portraits out of circulation and to wait for the three months to campaign to start.
