It’s no news that FGN was recently floored at the ICC, haven assigned external lawyers White & Case who came up with fictitious claims aimed at truncating proceedings towards the SPLT vs FGN arbitration in Paris.Haven failed in trying to adducate that Leno Adesanya isn’t the owner of Sunrise Power Transmission Company, or that Chairman SPTC had strong ties with former NSA Sambo Dasuki and sold shares to him as reason to stop the arbitration. The ICC declined the request of White & Case (legal representatives to FGN) to stop proceedings towards the arbitration in Paris. CAC search further show that Leno Adesanya and his family alone own Sunrise but is personal friends with a lot of private and government personnel in high places.

Intelligence has it that White & Case have further advanced to justify a billing process on FGN by creating more alibis & fictitious claims at all cost.

One of which is to get the EFCC to indict or give a report damaging to Sunrise Power Transmission Company and the entire award process. Unknown to White & Case, Chairperson to SPTC has been committed to the development of the Mambila Hydro Power Project for over 2 decades and as a result would have adequate documentation to override baseless claims that could arise. With the backing of the China Exim Bank & support from the Chinese government, it is evident that Leno Adesanya an astute buisness man has his house in order and has the likes of Femi Falana (SAN) and a reputable international law firm who handle cases on the grounds of integrity and merit, and are both fully abreast with the legal implications for a successful defence locally & internationally.

Aside being privy to documents to show due process towards the lawful award of this contract to SPLT, action precedence and statutory commitment to SPLT further reveal that some elements are simply using White & Case as a conduit pipe to bill FGN evident in 13th of October’s position by the ICC.

Back to the crux of the matter, The EFCC chairman Abdulrasheed Bawa is a seasoned detective and law enforcement agent who goes by the books and is known to be well educated with the regiments for engagement.

Only few months ago, Bawa was at the citadel of learning which lays emphasis on empiricism with her moto Ve Ri Tas (truth is mighty and truth would prevail) the prestigious Harvard University and being a strong alumni, He is known to form his judgment based on facts, figures and verifiable evidence.

While there has been political pressure on the EFCC boss to concort and fabricate claims for presentation to the ICC for the arbitration, it is no news that the EFCC chairman would not engage in fallacy which can truncate his reputation now or in the future.

While the position of the ICC was clear on its last position on some false allegations made by White & Case (International legal representative to FGN), The undertone of the ICC simply denotes that there won’t be room for flimsy excuses to truncate, delay or stop the arbitration process. Aside the back drop, both the Attorney General of the Federation & FGN’s internal lawyer Adeniyi Akintola SAN have advised that FGN settles amicably with SPLT, but unfortunately White & Case International representatives to FGN would rather a continuous display of a system break-down with the objective of personal profit as its driving force.Fair to say, FGN should inculcate strict adherence to contractual agreements and productive solutions towards sustainable national development and avoid an unnecessary charade of legal turmoil.

Truth is mighty and Truth would prevail… (VE RI TAS)
