How We Mistook Idiocy For Destiny -By Usama Abdullahi

It’s usually our follies that distance us away from the realities. You could find someone who hasn’t ever heard of a word, that is, he’s ignorant of it — but will go in great lengths trying to persuade well-grounded people into believing his weak suggestions about that particular word. And these, I say is the beginning of one’s journey to misconceptions.

There are philosophical perspectives about the human nature. But mind you, not every saying worths believing. That’s why there use to be a clash between one philosopher with another. It is in the rule of nature to argue on what tend to stray from your consciousness and of your religious’. For I believe that, through our reasons we will find the embarrassing thoughts of others.

It’s that we don’t question some philosophies, and for that we fail to comprehend the truth and however, go by making emphasis on another person’s egocentric, and rather fatuous reflections. It wasn’t too long that I explained what destiny really meant in one of my article on Opinion Nigeria. It happens in such a way that I with a somewhat cultured person, embarked on a serious dissensions about the word destiny.

I waited as he writes down his understandings of that word. Had his delving be that of critical type, all would’ve been well with his visions about word in question. Though he looked at the term in accordance with his religious beliefs, yet he was far-off from how it’s been said, religiously. As I argue with him, I, therefore learnt that it’s not his own faults but of the extremist that inculcated in him the boneheaded belief about it.

It’s obvious that not only me would learn to further my findings but anyone else who has enthusiasm in awakening the weaklings from their long – ago sleep in sciences. Yes, for none enjoys perfection throughout his fact-findings. And it discourages none in his intentions or decisions for the discovery of the literal truths.

My encounter with that gentleman isn’t what pushed me into thinking that destiny has long ago been viewed wrongly, but by the mastery of some peoples’ views about it, I became alerted that there were a quite few that had such soft mind-sets too for decade. They do think that destiny is a mere power that influence the future scenario, likewise one’s doing.

If they meet doom as a result of their poor deeds, they say it’s all destiny’s doing. They take liquors and say it’s work of destiny. They often get injured while driving or riding, because of their frowardness toward the traffics on the thoroughfare, yet they say it’s how heaven decides. God will never wish bad for his adherents. If we could consult our scriptures we will attest to the fact in no way did He guarantees humans to do whatsoever they like, and if as a result you get wounded or lost your valuables, then they would say it’s He that wants it that way.

In order to make my points perspicuous , I will choose to give an example with smokers, who knew of it damages to the body, also, to which severe warnings had been made ( boldly written on the cigarette’s cartoon) that taking it is injurious to one’s health, but instead they turned deaf ears and carry on with it. When it is their due moment to depart the world they so much loved — in an ugly and terrible condition of coughing — they will then begin to anathematize the manufacturers for producing such a thing that is now a reason to their suffering (probably death).

Sensible people don’t usually mistake destiny for mere idiocy. You sow good, you ripe good. You sow bad, you ripe bad. Simple! For God isn’t to be blamed for your idiocies. Isn’t it a huge sin that you damned God for your mindlessness?
