As the saying goes that “Agba ki I wa the loja k’ori omo tuntun wo” I need to draw the attention of the prominent traditional rulers; HRM (Emperor) Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III the Alaafin of Oyo, HRM (Dr) Oba Moshood Olelekan Ishola Baloogu the Olubadan of Ibadan and other concerned traditional rulers and politicians in Oyo State who are ever ready to raise up to challenges that is drawing Oyo State development backward to call the Executive Governor of Oyo State Engineer Seyi Makinde and his lead administration to order in disorderly system that Oyo State Amotekun Board of Governance and the Oyo State Amotekun corps commandant is using in Management of Oyo State Security Network (Amotekun) affairs when compare to other South West States (Ondo State, Ekiti State and Ogun State).

Briefly, let me keep you abreast of the matter at hand, the Oyo State Government joined hand with other States in the Southwest region to establish regional security outfit which harmoniously referred to as Western Nigerian Security Network (Amotekun) do I need to tell you about the issue you know more than I do? In nut shell it is only the Oyo State Government out of the States involved that is running the affairs of Western Nigerian Security Network in severe substandard system.

Honestly speaking I ought to have stayed away from Oyo State Amotekun’s issue but these Yoruba proverbs that says “they said this matter is yours, you said you are going to farm, when arrived from farm the matter await you” likewise “When your neighbor is feeding on insect, the problems thereafter shall give you a sleepless night” deny me from restrained myself on a pertinent matter affecting the educated individuals among Oyo State Amotekun corps, this educated Oyo State Amotekun operatives are being headed by Amotekun operatives who can neither read nor write. These set of operatives are appointed as deputy commandant, coordinators and operational leaders at both Local Government and State headquarter usually who are found despising and disdaining those that can read and write thus; “if you (educated Amotekun corps) want to use your Certificate, you should resign from the Oyo State Amotekun’s work, this work is strictly for illiterate / non educated, keep your Certificate at home”. The above comment was gotten from a reliable source. Likewise, I feel that I may one day be a victim of Oyo State Amotekun’s unprofessional operations, since I am still an Oyo State citizen, I will not wait until when insulted and harassed by untrained Oyo State Security personnel before reacting because one has to dodge a dangerous stick to the eyes from a distance. I cannot wait to be Oyo State Amotekun’s unruly and unprofessional operation victim. Moreover, if I fail to raise up to this Challenges in the Oyo State Amotekun corps, my town, families, friends even an enemy that can save my live tomorrow might be badly affected due to the ways and manner the Oyo State Amotekun is attending to various cases in their respective Local Government offices State headhunter. More so, I feel my mind shall not set me free, if I should be writing on this subject matter when politics set in by year 2023, political meaning may be attached. But now that the Governor I gave my mandate to is in power, I have every right to write for the Government to perform excellently well. Above all is like this present Oyo State Government pays no attention to the fact that most of words in Oyo State Anthem that had been composed long ago were wisely selected to depict the State as a Pacesetter State but now the words in the Oyo State Anthem are now being proved otherwise by the Oyo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun) management by not let other South West States see what can be emulated in the Oyo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun). Likewise this may affects the Oyo State educational status negatively.

My Royal Majesty sir, with due royal respect I want to believe that in our traditional palaces there is hierarchy and seniority. At this 21st Century, how possible and effective is it for Security outfit like the Oyo State Amotekun corps to operate without Operational manual, ranks/grading and code of conduct that guide and direct the affairs of the operatives. No appointment letter for Oyo State Amotekun corps. No lives insurance for Oyo State Amotekun corps. No other future benefit as public servant as gallant and as bravery as some of the Oyo State Amotekun corps are. The Oyo State Amotekun corps deserves a better life that would put their mind out of being corrupted and also to motivate the corps to perform their duty as expected by the Oyo State Government.

My royal fathers I beseech you in your Imperial Majesty to kindly call the Oyo State Government to retract their steps by Certificating, regularized and standardized the Oyo State Amotekun Corps operations to be among the world class security outfit, so as to maintain the Oyo State popular slogan that “A ji sebi Oyo laari, Oyo o se bi baba enikan’ and also to let the younger ones be encouraged educationally.
