I was student of Solomon Lar, says Atiku

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2023 elections, Atiku Abubakar has described himself as a close and intimate student of the late Chief Solomon Lar, the first National Chairman of the PDP in 1998.

Atiku stated that it was to the glory of the late former national chairman of the party that the PDP was the oldest party in Nigeria.

The former Vice President was speaking at the public presentation of Chronicles of the Rainbow (the post-humous autobiography of late Chief Solomon Lar) on Thursday held at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja.

The presidential candidate said, “I am standing in dual capacity here today; as Atiku Abubakar, a very close and intimate student of late Chief Solomon Lar, I will say, and secondly, representing the entire family, the Peoples Democratic Party, he helped found, and also the first chairman of that party.

“Today it is to the glory of Chief Solomon Lar that the PDP is the oldest political party in Nigeria.”

The presidential candidate also announced a donation of N100 million at the event.

The public presentation is part of the events and activities slated ahead of the 2023 general election.

Those in attendance were the National Chairman of the party, Sen. Iyorchia Ayu; wife of the presidential candidate, Hajia Titi Abubakar; former President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki; other national party officials, National Assembly members, former governors, among others.
