Ibeju-Lekki Council Begins Registration for Renewed Hope Cash Transfer Programme
Ibeju-Lekki Local Government starts registration for Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer from Oct. 7–14. Chairman Sesan Olowa urges residents to register with valid IDs for free.
The Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area of Lagos State has commenced registration for beneficiaries of the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) programme, beginning with Ward B as the first phase of the exercise.
Council Chairman Mr. Sesan Olowa announced the start of the registration while addressing journalists at the council secretariat in Ibeju on Tuesday.
According to him, the registration will run from October 7 to October 14, in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda on poverty reduction and social inclusion.
Olowa explained that the initiative aims to provide targeted financial assistance to vulnerable households across the council area.
“The exercise will take place at designated centres across all wards in the council. Residents are advised to visit the centre closest to them on their ward’s scheduled date for registration,” he said.
Applicants, he noted, must present valid personal and household information, including name, date of birth, gender, marital status, address, and phone number, along with a valid form of identification such as a Voter’s Card, LASRRA, NIN, or BVN.
He added that details such as family size, occupation, income level, housing type, health status, and disability information would also be captured to ensure a thorough profiling process.
Olowa emphasised that the registration is completely free, urging residents to provide accurate and verifiable information.
“The CCT initiative is part of the Federal Government’s National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) designed to cushion the effects of economic reforms and support low-income families,” he said.
The council chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring that all eligible residents benefit from the scheme.
“We have put in place the necessary structures to ensure a seamless registration and verification process across all wards,” he added.
Olowa further highlighted that the programme would significantly improve the lives of vulnerable groups, including women, the elderly, and persons with disabilities, by offering them financial relief and greater economic stability.
He called on residents to participate actively in the registration exercise, saying:
“Go to your ward at the designated date and present authentic documents to facilitate smooth registration and eventual inclusion in the scheme.”
