During a raid in the area, investigators from Anambra State’s Nnewi Vigilance Service apprehended 30 suspected Yahoo boys and kidnappers.

The raid took place in two buildings in Obiofia, Nnewichi-Nnewi, and was dubbed “Operation Sweep” by the operators.
The vigilante operations have recently developed a policy to maintain Nnewi free of kidnappers, armed robbers, and cybercriminals, as well as the exploitation of young females and other sorts of crime.

The raid also led to the arrest of some young girls allegedly being exploited by the hoodlums, while some charms, mobile phones and dozens of SIM cards were recovered from the suspects.
