Insult Syndrome amongst parents -By Idris Hassan

These children that are being cursed and insulted would grow up and engaged in insulting their wi(fe)ves, husband(s), and children without worry, since it’s inculcated in them and this is what Sociologists call ‘Social learning theory in crime and understanding of social reality. May Allah help us all!

At my sight yesterday, a mother insulted her nine years old son’ Kachi durun uwarka’ because the boy was trying to go outside when she asked him not. Wallahi, hankali na ya tashi. I was taken aback and left speechless. This is a mother who’s meant to inculcate and teach her children modesty, morality and socio-cultural conduct of the society and religion engaging in the bastardization of the moral and religious conduct she’s supposed to uphold.

The rate at which parents insult and hammer curses on their children is pathetic and dreadful. A mother was caught cursing her 16 years old daughter’ Shegiya, la’an neniya, a karuwanci za ki kare rayuwarki’ and I was bittered that this curse would surely follow this girl, and later on in life her mother would be worried that her daughter has turned into a well-known prostitute without remembering the implications of her curse. No matter how angry you’re with your children, don’t curse them. Allah hears the words of parents (especially mothers) very quickly.
