Italy clinched the Euro title for the first time since 1968 following a 3-2 victory on penalties over England after both sides were held to a brutal 1-1 draw at Wembley Stadium on Sunday’s night.

The Azzurris remarkably chased away the hoodoo that has been following them over for over 40 years, even though they had won the FIFA World Cup in 2006, the Italians have never laid their hand on a Euro title in 53 years.

Luke Shaw put England in the driver’s seat barely before fans could even settle in their seats. The Manchester United full-back set a record in the Euro final, having broken the deadlock 2nd minutes after the kickoff.

Gareth Southgate’s hopes of winning the title were shattered when Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka missed decisive spot-kicks. Italy has been crowned as champions as they landed the trophy in Rome.
