Jandor Predicts Tinubu’s Easy Win in 2027, Declares Lagos Governorship Ambition

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s 2023 governorship candidate in Lagos State, Abdul-Azeez Adediran, better known as Jandor, has predicted a comfortable victory for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, Jandor — who has since rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC) — dismissed the possibility of a repeat of the political shocks witnessed in 2023, when Tinubu lost Lagos to Labour Party’s Peter Obi.

“Remember, in 2023, Jandor and his Lagos for Lagos movement were outside, and this time, we are back inside. So, it won’t be the same thing as what you witnessed in 2023,” he said.

Jandor argued that Tinubu’s political influence has expanded beyond Lagos and positioned him for a nationwide landslide.

“2027, not only in Lagos but in the entire country, is going to be a walkover for the man whose courage has given us a lot in this country today,” he declared.

Tinubu won the tightly contested 2023 presidential election, defeating PDP’s Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party’s Peter Obi, and others. However, his loss in Lagos was seen as a symbolic dent to his political dominance.

Since defecting from the PDP back to the APC in March, Jandor has reaffirmed his ambition to contest the Lagos governorship again in 2027.

“There is no vacancy in Aso Rock till 2031, so for Jandor, I am running in 2027 and I have so declared,” he said.

Reacting to speculation that President Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu, may also contest the Lagos governorship, Jandor welcomed the idea, noting that Seyi is qualified.

“If the party picks him, all of us will rally round and support,” he added.
