Jigawa Building Collapse: One Dead, Seven Injured After Heavy Rainfall in Kirikasamma

A midnight building collapse in Kabak village, Kirikasamma LGA, Jigawa, claimed one life and injured seven others after heavy rainfall. Council Chairman Muhammad Maji provided medical aid and support to victims’ families.

The Kirikasamma Local Government Council in Jigawa State has confirmed the death of one person and injuries to seven others following a building collapse triggered by heavy rainfall in the area.

The Council’s Information Officer, Musa Muhammad, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday in Dutse.

According to him, the incident occurred at Kabak village in Kirikasamma Local Government Area around midnight on Friday.

“I gathered that seven persons sustained serious injuries while one person died at Kabak village in Kirikasamma Local Government Area. The incident happened midnight, Friday, after which five of the victims were hospitalised while the remaining two were treated and discharged,” Muhammad said.

He noted that the Council Chairman, Muhammad Maji, visited the scene of the tragedy to commiserate with the victims and their families.

Muhammad further explained that the chairman provided ₦500,000 to cover the medical treatment of the injured and ₦100,000 as emergency support to the bereaved family.
