Jonathan Safe, Exits Guinea-Bissau Amid Political Unrest — FG

Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms former President Goodluck Jonathan has safely departed Guinea-Bissau on a special flight amid rising political tensions. He left with his delegation, including diplomat Ibn Chambas.

The Federal Government has confirmed that former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is safe and has departed Guinea-Bissau following the recent political turmoil in the country.

The clarification was given by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa, during an interview with journalists in Abuja. Ebienfa disclosed that Jonathan left the country aboard a special flight.

“Former President Jonathan is very safe and out of Guinea-Bissau,” he stated. “He left with a special flight with members of his delegation including Ibn Chambas.”

Jonathan had been in Guinea-Bissau on a regional engagement before the unfolding events necessitated his early evacuation.
