Julien Alfred wins Olympic women’s 100m gold
Before Saturday’s final, Alfred had never placed on the podium at a major outdoor competition. Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia upset favorite Sha’Carri Richardson on Saturday to win the gold medal in the Olympic women’s 100 meters, making history and winning the Caribbean country’s first-ever medal at the Games.
