JUST IN: Again, S’Court dismisses NNPP suit against Sani, Kaduna APC, INEC

Counsel for the Kaduna State APC, who’s also a former state chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Sule Shu’aibu, confirmed the latest verdict.

The Supreme Court, on Tuesday, dismissed a suit brought before it against the Independent National Electoral Commission, the Kaduna All Progressives Congress and its governorship, Uba Sani, by the New Nigeria Peoples Party.

The Kaduna Division of the Court of Appeal had in January 2023, ruled in favour of the APC governorship candidate in a suit marked No. CA/K/293/2022 by NNPP Vs. INEC & APC seeks to disqualify our Gubernatorial Candidate and all 34 candidates for the state House of Assembly in the forthcoming general election.

However, the suit was dismissed by the appellate court.

But not done, the NNPP dragged the INEC, Kaduna APC and its candidate, Uba Sani before the apex court.

This is coming barely less than 24 hours after Kaduna High Court equally dismissed the suit calling for the disqualification of the lawmaker from being the standard bearer of the Kaduna APC’s governorship seat, in the forthcoming elections.
