JUST IN: Lagos man stabs neighbour to death over parking space

Hundeyin said the suspect has been arrested with the exhibit of crime, while an investigation was in progress.

Men of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a 41-year-old man, Tolulope Olowu, for allegedly stabbing his 33-year-old neighbour simply identified as Pablo to death.

Olowu and Pablo, both residents of First Unity Estate, the Badore area of Ajah, Lagos State reportedly had an altercation on a parking space on their street.

The misunderstanding, despite efforts by co-residents to settle it, degenerated into a fisticuff during which Olowu reportedly stabbed Pablo to death.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria on Sunday.

Hundeyin said the incident happened on Saturday around 10pm at First Unity Estate, in the Badore area of Ajah.

He said the case was reported to the Langbasa Police Division on Sunday at about 2am.

The police spokesman the suspect and the deceased are both residents of Gbadamosi Street in the estate.

He added, “They had a misunderstanding over parking of a vehicle on the street.

“In the process, Olowu allegedly stabbed Pablo with a knife in the stomach and he died on the spot.

“Based on the report, a team of detectives from the Langbasa Police Division visited and photographed the scene.

“The corpse has been evacuated and deposited at the morgue of the Infectious Diseases Hospital, Yaba for autopsy.”

Hundeyin said the suspect has been arrested with the exhibit of crime, while an investigation was in progress.
