Kane Rescues Bayern as Record Winning Streak Ends with 2–2 Draw at Union Berlin

Harry Kane scored a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser to salvage a 2–2 draw for Bayern Munich against Union Berlin on Saturday, bringing an end to the Bavarians’ historic winning streak across all competitions.

Union defender Danilho Doekhi netted twice, either side of an extraordinary solo goal from Luis Díaz, before Kane’s late intervention denied the hosts their first-ever win over Bayern. The England striker’s 93rd-minute strike was his 13th goal in 10 Bundesliga matches this season.

Despite dropping points, Bayern remain six points clear at the top of the Bundesliga, with RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund also faltering on the same day.

The draw ended Bayern’s remarkable 16-match winning start to the season — the best opening run in any of Europe’s top five leagues. The team looked fatigued after their midweek 2–1 Champions League win over PSG, where they played with 10 men for much of the match.

Union struck first in the 27th minute when Doekhi slotted past Manuel Neuer after sustained pressure. Bayern equalised through Díaz’s moment of brilliance before halftime — the Colombian forward rescued a near-lost ball, evaded his marker, and rifled home from a tight angle.

Doekhi restored Union’s lead late in the game, finding the net again with a well-placed rebound, but Kane’s injury-time header ensured Bayern’s unbeaten record stayed intact.

Elsewhere in the Bundesliga, Dortmund were held 1–1 at Hamburg, while Leipzig slumped to a 3–1 defeat at Hoffenheim. Bayer Leverkusen cruised to a 6–0 home win over Heidenheim, with Patrik Schick and Ibrahim Maza both scoring twice.
