The apocalypse of flooding which is ostensibly ravaging in Kano state has lowered hundreds of inhabitants of those affected places into the pit of despair. This is piteous and sympathetic but nothing can be done to draw the hand of the clock backward than to succumb to the will of God.

Reportedly, more than one-third of the people are lugubriously affected in the aforementioned states. Properties that are worth of humongous amount of money have been dillapidated; documents, certificates et al of many people would have been washed away by the flood; material possessions like golden necklaces, wristwatches etc would no where to be located. Luxurious mansions owners become an individual of no shetter. I sighed!

According to the biblical belief, when the curtain of this section of the planet earth will be drawn, miserable occurrences will be springing out. Is this not the sign of the end of life? Nonetheless, this belief is tagged by some people as a dogma.

Cristian faithful have the belief that this planet will be annihilated by fire but not by water as it happened during the epoch of Noah. The justification of the assertion that earth will destroyed by fire can be verified in the Holy Bible, in the book of II Peter 3:10. It’s written thus: “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up”. This catastrophe of flood is unexpected.

Consequent upon the pang of the flood prey in Kano state, the erstwhile governor of Lagos state and the presidential flag-bearer of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu reportedly bequeathed a whooping amount of one hundred million naira (N100m) to the victims to ease their plights and lightly clean their tears.

With this, eulogium has to be raised on him. This is a challenge to other candidates like Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of Labour Partkky (LP), Atiku Abubakar, the presidential flag-bearer of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) among others.

However, residents of Kano state are not the only people affected. The inhabitants of Bayelsa state, Anambra state, Kogi state are not excluded as well. It will be extremely pleasant if the presidential flag-bearer of APC, PDP, LP and other financially buoyant personalities can turn good eyes and extend the philanthropic gesture to other victims.

Albeit, the donation made by him can never commensurate with the loss they have experienced. It is just that he is concerned with the welfare and well-being of the Nigerians.

The Minister for Water Resources, Suleiman Adamu should hastily make a plan to decide on the preventive measures of flooding within the interval of three months as ordered by the president of Nigeria, Gen. Mohammadu Buhari.
