Kidnappers of Six Defence Ministry Directors Demand N150m Ransom
Kidnappers who abducted six Defence Ministry directors on the Kabba–Lokoja highway are demanding N150m ransom. Families plead for their release as ASCSN confirms identities and rescue efforts.
Fresh details have emerged regarding the abduction of six directors from the Federal Ministry of Defence, with their captors now demanding a ransom of N150 million for their release.
The senior officials were seized on November 10, 2025, along the Kabba–Lokoja highway in Kogi State while traveling from Lagos to Abuja to participate in a Directorate-level promotion examination. Sources described their capture as the result of a carefully planned ambush.
A relative of one of the victims, who spoke anonymously, expressed devastation and fear over the situation.
“We are still in shock over the whole incident. To worsen our pain, the kidnappers are demanding N150 million to free all six of them. Where and how can we raise such an outrageous amount? We are appealing to the kidnappers to release our breadwinners unharmed. This is all we can say.”
Union Condemns Abduction, Confirms Identities of Victims
In a statement issued Tuesday, the Association of Senior Staff of the Federal Ministry of Defence (ASCSN), signed by its President, Shehu Mohammed, and Secretary-General, Joshua Apebo, strongly condemned the kidnapping and reassured members that efforts were in motion to rescue the victims.
The union identified the abducted directors as:
- Mrs. Ngozi Ibeziakor
- Mrs. C. Emeribe
- Mrs. Helen Ezeakor
- Mrs. C. Ladoye
- Mrs. J. Onwuzurike
- Mrs. Catherine Essien
All six are ASCSN members and staff of the Command Day Secondary School (CDSS), Ojo, Lagos.
According to the union, the Ministry of Defence has already activated security agencies and taken urgent steps aimed at ensuring the safe return of the abducted officials.
