Kwara and Hijab Crises: What Should Be Considered? -By Ibrahim Abdulwasiu

The media and society of Kwara have been faced with numbers of content on Hijab crises, which makes a talk of all.
In recent times, both party in concern have been debating on the issue of Hijab in missionary schools of the state capital but to the best of my knowledge, this action is creeping the academic activities of the students in those schools.
Looking into goal 4 of the sustainable development goals “Quality Education”, the activities of both parties are affecting the future of the students in the missionary schools by preventing them from joining their fellow colleagues in other schools, thus depriving them of access to education.
Covid-19 has done our education more than expected, sentiment and religion intolerance shouldn’t take advantage of the students access to quality education. The education of these students should be considered.
Looking into goal 10 of the mission 2030 “reduce inequality”, everyone should understand that equality before the law is pivotal in ensuring sustainability. Regardless of religion affiliation, there must be an inclusive bylaws that ensure no one is left in our education sector. With the debate on missionary schools, our teeming youths are deprived their religious faith as it’s stated in the constitution. The party involved should synergize among themselves and create a smooth pathway for religion tolerance.
Also, the goal 16 of the global goals says “peace, justice, and strong institution where it’s expected that we sustain peace and justice among ourselves regardless of the individual affiliation”. But it’s so pathetic that this is not the case in the state of harmony where harmony speaks of peace and unity. Every party has resolved to act without putting sustainability into consideration, the state government methods of resolution are much appreciated and it will be of great achievement if the two religious party understand the basis of sustainable development goals and act according to its aim and objectives.
Children, they say, are leaders of tomorrow, but the leaders of tomorrow are deprived the right to education due to religious affiliation and self interest. Politics shouldn’t find its way into the education of our up and coming youths. Let’s bring the peace, build the justice and establish the unity among ourselves.
