Prince Oyerinola Olakunle, spokesperson for seven family members abducted in Aladanla Community, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, has appealed to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to intervene and secure their release.

The victims—mostly cousins of Prince Olakunle—include Sikiru Oyerinola, Taye Oyerinola, Idowu Oyerinola, Faruk Oyerinola, and two minors. He said the kidnappers are demanding a ₦300 million ransom.

Aladanla, located in Igbaja Ward 2, has been largely deserted following a failed abduction attempt on the community’s monarch, Oba David Oyerinola, and his wife on December 26, 2025. The royal couple reportedly escaped and have since relocated to a hotel in Ilorin for security reasons.

According to Prince Olakunle, the attack occurred around 7 p.m. on Boxing Day, when six armed bandits, one wearing a mask, stormed the area. Unable to find the Kabiyesi and his wife, the assailants abducted seven family members who were outside the palace at the time.

A witness said a girl who noticed the attempted abduction was shot and is currently receiving medical treatment. The kidnappers allegedly seized two additional persons while fleeing, bringing the total number of abductees to nine.

“The bandits called demanding ₦300 million, saying, ‘If you know you don’t want problem… pay and we will release your people,’” Prince Olakunle said, adding that residents have fled the community out of fear.
