Starting Monday, August 11, 2025, the Lagos Rail Mass Transit Blue Line will significantly enhance its service, operating trains every 10 minutes and reducing the Marina to Mile 2 travel time to just 10 minutes – an eight-minute improvement over current schedules.

The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) announced in a statement that this upgrade will save commuters 44% in travel time while boosting daily trips from 72 to 90 on weekdays and Saturdays. Sunday services will maintain their current 22 trips.

LAMATA Managing Director Abimbola Akinajo credited the improvements to new rolling stock acquired through collaboration between Lagos State and the Federal Government.
