Lagos Driver, 50, Arraigned for Allegedly Assaulting LASTMA Officer at Berger
A 50-year-old man, Olajide Bambe, was arraigned at Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly assaulting LASTMA officer Dare Medahunsi at Berger Expressway, Lagos. He pleaded not guilty and was granted ₦300,000 bail.

A 50-year-old man, Olajide Bambe, was on Monday brought before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly assaulting an officer of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).
Bambe, a Lagos resident, is facing a two-count charge of assault and breach of peace. He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, SP Josephine Ikayere, told the court that the incident occurred on August 11, 2025, at the Berger Expressway, outward Lagos.
Ikayere alleged that Bambe punched Dare Medahunsi, a LASTMA officer attached to the Ojodu Berger Zone, in the stomach while he was on duty. She added that the defendant further obstructed the officer from carrying out his lawful duty, thereby causing a breach of peace.
According to the prosecution, the offences contravene Sections 172 and 168 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Magistrate Lateef Owolabi granted the defendant bail in the sum of ₦300,000 with two sureties in like sum, and adjourned the case until September 24 for mention.
