NSCEA: Lamentations Of A Bishop

Kaduna International Airport, Kaduna. was attacked by bandits.
3hours later the FAAN boss, Captain Rabiu Hamisu Yadudu comes on air to announce that over N1billion worth of properties were destroyed…He didn’t mention the lives lost.

An Abuja Kaduna train was attacked by terrorists.
Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi before even reaching the site of the attack has put the figure of losses at N3billion… He left us with the impression that the military rescued all 970 persons and his trains were all bullet proofed. Families searching for victims are already over 80!.. with some notable deaths already published by families of the victims!

The Kaduna highways were simultaneously attacked for 3 days by Jihadists. Scores of victims littered the roads and others taken hostage. The same minister of transportation.., Rotimi Amaechi who acts like the roads are not under his ministry but under the “Ministry of NURTW” kept mute. Only to announce in his broadcast that another N15billion will be needed to fix the roads and safe guard it..

After the match between the Nigeria Super Eagles and the Black Stars!. NFF and the minister of sports woke us up jointly that the destruction at the stadium is worth over N9billion… Coincidentally the cost of the new stadium built in Senegal.. well they didn’t mention that the stampede caused by their lackadaisical and lackluster performance and the high handed response of the police took the life of 3 people and many others are in the hospital.

The Holy Scriptures warns us as human beings about Material Possessions:

Matthew 6:19-21
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Luke 12:33-34
Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Luke 12:15
And he said to them, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”

1 Timothy 6:17-19
As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.

Matthew 16:26
For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?

1 Timothy 6:10
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.

1 John 3:17
But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him?

1 Timothy 6:9
But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.

Matthew 6:33
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Matthew 6:24
“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.

1 John 2:16
For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world.

Psalm 37:7-9
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil. For the evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for the Lord shall inherit the land.
