Lawal Adamu Usman petitions Justice Umar Mohammed to NJC

The embattled PDP senatorial candidate of Kaduna central, Lawal Adamu Usman, has petitioned National Judiciary Council over the deliberate refusal of Justice Umar Mohammed of the federal high court 1 Kaduna division to issue him with the copy of judgement which his lawyer applied for on 4th November,2022. It can be recalled, following the nullification of his victory by federal high court, presided over by Justice Umar Garba, Lawal Adamu Usman filed a notice of appeal on 4th November challenging the judgement which favoured Usman Ibrahim, delivered on 2 November against him and two others. Sadly, Justice Umar is yet to issue the signed judgment of the federal high court knowing fully well that the notice of appeal as well as the record of proceedings of the court attached to the judgement is needed to be transmitted to the court of appeal to enable his lawyers study the judgement, prepare grounds of appeal and brief of arguments. Unfortunately, the judgement of the court as well as the record of proceedings have been withheld by the court in other to truncate and sabotage his efforts so as not to meet up with deadline.
Lawal Adamu Usman prayers for NJC are: the immediate release of judgement and records of proceedings after having made a deposit of 200,000 to facilitate the compilation of the record of the court. No further deliberate delay for the release of the documents sought by his lawyers. The NJC should sanction the judge of his deliberate action of sabotage. And any other action that is deemed necessary which may be sanctioned against the judge.
