A typical Nigerian will always look for who to shift the blame of their misfortune, misbehaviour or mistake on

Since yesterday, a Facebook post has been flying around how the church ignored Divine Ikubor (formerly Rhema but now Rema) with his talent in music and he got signed by a secular record label under Mavins record. A lot of people blame the church for allowing him to be “sold to the devil”. Lashing out at the church for their neglect of young music stars who started in the church but ended up doing something else.

I will say that these young musicians are only looking for stardom and fame and they don’t mind wherever they get it if it will give them what they want, they will hung to it. If Divine was actually interested in doing what is right, the multi-million deal though enticing will not be enough to take him off the God that promise to take him far.

Nathaniel Bassey once shared a story of himself as a young gospel artiste when he was approach by a secular record label the same way Divine was and they promised him good things but he should remove Jesus from his music, though a hard decision to make with the situation of  Nigeria and knowing how he will be considered a fool for turning down the offer, Nathaniel took the hardest pill and refuse the deal and today, the rest is history. That Nathaniel Bassey who was not known some ten years back is now a reputable and well known Gospel singer whose songs has touch many lives and brought them to Christ.

Where was sinach in 2001 or 2005? she wasn’t a known Gospel Singer, she was probably waiting on God to give her a stage at His right time and God took Osinachi farther than she ever imagined using a platform of the Believers Love world for her when the time was right.

The church is not a place of rushing, if Jesus didn’t jump into limelight till the age of thirty that means God won’t jump protocol for anyone. The church is a place of grooming and procedures, it is not a place where you use to get fame, stardom and name but a place where you can learn how to manage fame when they come before the fame arrives.

If any talented people leave the church and make it in the secular world, the church is never at fault, such person’s heart and intention needs to be examined to know why the person was actually using that talent for whether it is to showcase his or her self or glorify God.

The church is not to be blame for run aways, the heart of such run away is to be question and the motive behind the usage of the talent be examined
