Lieutenant General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma Academy Statutory Land Allocation -By Professor Okike Benjamin

Now that it has happened, I am appealing to the FCT Minister for statutory re-allocation of my plots of lands affected by the academy since I was told that statutory allocations are irrevocable.

I have on the 25th December, 2023 written an Open Letter titled “An Open Letter to Lieutenant General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma – Appeal for Justice on the Encroachment of My Lands for His Academy”. In that Open Letter, I never used any word that is demeaning to the person of the General. I was only making an appeal for compensation which I was made to understand this morning while in Gwagwalada Zonal Land Office that about seven (7) years ago when the General was on the academy site that he graciously compensated those who met him on site one-on-one. Similarly, on the 20th February, 2024, I wrote an open Letter titled “An Open Letter to FCT Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike” asking for his intervention to enable get back my plots of lands.

I am truly amazed that when the statutory allocation was made, the land office did not contact owners of the affected lands where the academy is situated even when there is a database where information relating to the owners of the lands are stored. I am also made to understand that statutory allocation is endorsed by the FCT Minister only and that it takes precedence over all other allocations since it is usually of public interest. I already mentioned in my open letter to the General that academy when operational would provide Nigerians with employment and reduce the rate of crime in the society.

Now that it has happened, I am appealing to the FCT Minister for statutory re-allocation of my plots of lands affected by the academy since I was told that statutory allocations are irrevocable.

I will be grateful if this appeal is granted.
Thanks as I expect prompt action.
Yours faithfully,
