Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announces a state of emergency after his government accused the United States of carrying out a serious military attack on Caracas.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on Saturday announced a state of emergency after what his government described as an “extremely serious military aggression” by the United States targeting the capital, Caracas.
According to an AFP journalist, several explosions were heard across the city, along with sounds similar to aircraft flying overhead.
In a statement, the Venezuelan government condemned the incident, saying: “Venezuela rejects, repudiates, and denounces before the international community the extremely serious military aggression perpetrated by the current government of the United States of America against Venezuelan territory and people.”
