Man kills neighbor and son in Lagos due to poor environmental sanitation

The Lagos State Police Command reports that it has arrested a man (names withheld) for allegedly killing his neighbor and her son in the Lekki neighborhood of the state over a dispute about environmental sanitation.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) was informed of this on Monday in Lagos by the command spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin.

He stated that the event occurred on Saturday at approximately 10:50 p.m. and that an investigation was still on to determine the tool(s) that the suspect utilized to do the crime.

He said that on Sept. 15, about 22:50, an information was received at the Elemoro division that the suspect allegedly killed one Gloria, who was his neighbour and her son, over an argument on cleaning of the environment.

The command spokesman alleged that the suspect put their dead bodies in a big sack to dispose the bodies.

He said that luck was against him, when other neighbours informed the police at Elemoro division of the incident.

”Immediately detectives of the division rushed to the scene, arrested the suspect and recovered the bodies , ” Hundeyin said.

The command spokesman said that the bodies had been deposited at the Epe General Hospital mortuary for autopsy and preservation.

According to him, police detectives are investigating the incident.
