Man who trades on human parts in Abuja arrested
The police claim that Ezra was hunting in Kuje when he discovered the body remains and had planned to sell them for N600,000.
A man has been detained by the Federal Capital Territory, or FCT, Police Command on suspicion of dealing in human parts in Abuja.
Iddo police division agents apprehended Nuhu Ezra, a resident of Gosa Kipikipi village in Lugbe, on July 9, 2024, at approximately 9 p.m., in possession of a human skull and bones.
The police claim that Ezra was hunting in Kuje when he discovered the body remains and had planned to sell them for N600,000.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, confirmed the arrest and urged residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
She said: “The suspect, Nuhu Ezra, stated that he picked up the human skull and bones from the bush while hunting in Kuje. He intended to sell them for N600,000.”
The Commissioner of Police, FCT, Benneth Igweh, has, meanwhile, ordered a thorough investigation into the matter to ascertain the source of the human parts, the intended buyer, and how long Ezra has been involved in the alleged business.
The suspect is currently in police custody and will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.
