Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe has come to the defense of Barcelona’s teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, urging critics to respect his privacy and stop interfering in his personal life.

In recent months, the 18-year-old Spanish forward has faced intense public scrutiny over various controversies, including rumors of a relationship with 30-year-old influencer Fati Vasquez and backlash for featuring little people as entertainers at his birthday celebration.

Speaking on Universo Valdano, Mbappe praised Yamal’s footballing talent and called for understanding, stressing that the young player deserves space to grow both on and off the field.

“It’s clear he has a lot of passion for football, and that’s the one thing he can’t lose. The rest is his personal life. We have to leave him alone,” Mbappe said.

“In football, he’s a great player, but in life, he’s just an 18-year-old kid. At that age, everyone makes mistakes. You do things right, you do things wrong.”

Mbappe added that Yamal should be judged by his performances, not his private choices.

“In the end, he’ll have his life experience. He’ll know what’s good for him. You just have to look at what he does on the pitch. What he does off the pitch isn’t important if it’s not serious. He has great talent and will follow the path he wants. I wish him the best of luck.”

Mbappe and Yamal are set to face each other in the highly anticipated El Clásico between Real Madrid and Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabéu on October 26.
