Message: In A Church But Out Of Christ -By Isaiah Ogedegbe
Nicodemus was a ruler of the Jews who served religion and thought he was serving God. Religion cannot save you; it is only by knowing Jesus Christ personally. What does it mean to be born again? To be born again is to become a new creation in Christ.
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). Any man who is in a church but out of Christ will still do the old things. You who are in a church but out of Christ, I know you know the Lord because you know His Word. You accepted Christ some time ago, but walked away from Him.
There is danger in turning your back on the Lord. You know the truth, but do not live by it. You preach holiness, but still live in sin. If you do not amend your ways now that you are alive, one day you will become disqualified from entering into heaven. Many are in a church, but few are in Christ and very few will be in heaven. In becoming a born-again Christian, it is not a question of being in a church for so many years; it is a question of being in Christ right now.
Some in the priesthood―evangelists, pastors, bishops, archbishops and even popes―are in a church but out of Christ. They are religious but not spiritual.
Nicodemus was a ruler of the Jews who served religion and thought he was serving God. Religion cannot save you; it is only by knowing Jesus Christ personally. What does it mean to be born again? To be born again is to become a new creation in Christ. It is a change which first begins from the inside and then starts to show on the outside. You must be born again!
