Mind Restructuring: Advantage Of Broad-minded And Tragedy Of Narrow-minded -By Richard Odusanya

It should be noted that the mind is critical to success and it is a pillar of strength in times of crises, it has a built-in machinist for discoveries ‘vision’ however, the same mind is the devil workshop as they ‘say’- when not adequately engaged; the mind is also a place where issues are resolved and battles are won and lost. Therefore, it is absolutely necessary to emphasize the importance of sound mind and large hearted mentality, as we continue to explore the potential resources for “Mind Restructuring”

It is, a well known fact, that those who are naturally gifted, talented and classified as inventors, who seeks for enduring solutions and newness of grace, are usually men with large heart, selfless, visionary, purposeful and sound minds; they are evolutionary in relationships, not motivated by pecuniary benefits, materialistic tendencies or pride themselves as achievers; rather, it is the inner strength, light and vision that is the driving force; which ultimately, is the engine room of life; resilience, solid character, leading to great thinking, these are part of the functions of sound mind and existential dread.

Flowing from the above, it has become imperative that we take a cursory look at the right mindsets instead of castigating our youths and calling them “lazy youths” Nigeria and by extension the African continent, that have a greater number of its population in the youths. It, therefore, calls for sobriety and soothing words that can dramatically capture the essence of repentance and forgiveness; because we failed woefully to provide the enabling environment and the latitude of proper engagement. We actually have offended the youths and inadvertently helped to destroyed their future.

We rise by God’s grace in Africa, so many things pointing to the wrong direction, including environment that is needed to help propel an individual to discover themselves. Everyone has a purpose of life to fullfil– until you discover your calling in this world you may not be able to fulfill destiny as an individual that is useful to the society. In the circumstances, basic training, amenities and the right mindsets is the answer.

In our beloved country Nigeria and by extension the African continent, there are many gifted and talented individuals that the world is waiting for among the teaming population of the youths; the big obstacle to identifying one’s purpose in life especially in a country like Nigeria the largest economy in Africa, the biggest concentration of the black man in the world and sadly a sleeping giant– it is just about the right mindsets towards productivity and an enabling environment.

Unfortunate, this is our reality, a sad one, our beloved country Nigeria, with the majority of the members of the ruling elites and their collaborators in the private sector, who have chosen to blind their minds and think only about themselves and family members–engaged in frivolous spending, medical tourism, holidaying abroad– including their children education. This is the level of the thinking among the ruling class. Sad and unfortunate situations.

I am certainly not against affluence, benefits and the perks of office, but I am totally against robbing the masses of our joint patrimony to satisfies the greed of a few individuals. This is ungodly, sadistic mindset and destructive oriented mindset that breeds pride, egotism and segregation leading to nepotistic behavior.

The time has come for us to activate a more robust engagement and efforts towards discouraging opportunism, thereby creating a level playing field for all of our citizens. It is also very important to mobilize most of our youths who’s future has been mortgaged to come together for the purpose of disengaging the class of the destructive oriented mindsets and CHARTERED failures. It is therefore pertinacious to begin to backtrack from the jackboot mentality and knee-jack reaction to the rightful demands of engaging the right mindsets. DRY BONES SHALL RISE AGAIN.
