Mind Restructuring: Forthrightness, Heroic Adventures And Tyrannical Mindset -By Richard Odusanya

We must understand Arthur Schopenhauer’ quote which says; “Every truth passes through three stages before it is recognized, in the first it is ridiculed, in the second it is opposed, in the third it is regarded as self-evident.”

“Happiness depends on your Mindset and attitude.” “The mind is just like a muscle the more you exercise it, the stronger it gets and the more it expands.” “The mind has a powerful way of attracting things that are in harmony with it, good or bad.”- unknown author.

At a personal level, I have observed that a positive mindset is critical to growth. For if you embrace a learning curve rather than believing that traits and qualities are ingrained, you can develop your skills, creativities, abilities, intelligence and results. As the adage goes, “If you’re not growing, you are dying.

In the past few days, I have been ruminating about our entire system, growth and developments. In recent years, we have watched so many drama in the hallow chambers of the National Assembly (NASS), in this era of “drop the mic,” it was a very sad moment for us as a nation where reprehensible actions tailored towards continuous backwardness and justification for rigging of the next general elections in lieu of the election.

It was a very disturbing moments and a big shame watching the presentation on the floor of the chamber by the representative of Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC), it shows the level of how we have degenerated and what an average Nigerian can do to justify evil.

Despotic mindset is a recipe for disaster in a democracy. I kept ruminating about the benefits of heroic leaders and the disconnect of despotic tyrants. Honestly, I have been burdened, my heart bleeds.. sensing the ominous danger ahead of us as a nation. This is certainly not the nation that our heroes envisioned.

An unrepentant coupists and a rejuvenated retired congenitally destructive mind will always view everything from the jackboot mentality. Showing autocratic power in a democratic administration is pure stupidity. What will it take a leader to go stay in each of the region for one week to meet with the people? Other than arrogance of power, we have not seen anything altruistic and dynamic both in words and deeds. It has been one embarrassment or the other, locally and internationally.

A nation and its inhabitants without a good mindset cannot achieve greatness. A man or woman with the wrong or negative mindset, is a fraud and a failure. The purpose of life is to have the right or positive mindset, so that we can be achievers. Both old and young in Africa and Nigeria must have the right mindsets, to attain greatness in our world. The problem in the continent, country, communities and at family level today, are the resultant effects of wrong mindset. Other areas of concern is the issue of our hearts.

Why has religion not helped us out of the Predicaments? Is it that the people who claimed to represent the ominipotent God, are spiritually incapable? Or is it that so many of the leaders are ready to betray God for greed and selfishness? The youths are even worse because they have developed corrupt minds. Until our hearts are circumcised we are heading no where. That is Mind Restructuring.
